Nvidia briefly becomes world’s most valuable company
Nvidia briefly became the world’s most valuable company on Friday.
The GPU designer dethroned Apple, with a market cap of $3.53 trillion ahead of the iPhone company’s $3.52 trillion. Since then, its value has fallen to $3.47 trillion.
Nvidia Briefly Becomes World’s Most Valuable Company
Nvidia was also briefly the world’s most valuable company in June, before being overtaken by both Microsoft and Apple. That month, it surpassed $3 trillion for the first time, before doing a 10-for-1 stock split.
This comes after it hit $2 trillion in February 2024 and $1 trillion in May 2023. In August, the company reported revenue of $30 billion, of which $26.3 billion came from data centers. Its data center division generated 154% more than in the same period last year, driven by the rise of GPUs with generative AI. Nvidia’s next earnings report is due on November 20, and its latest Blackwell server GPUs are reportedly already completely sold out for the next 12 months.
